Hurulu Forest Reserve / Eco Park

Hurulu Eco Park is the visitor area within Hurulu Forest Reserve near Habarana, managed by the Department of Forest Conservation rather than as a national park. Its dry-zone forest and grassland form part of an important elephant corridor. Visits are vehicle-based; use authorised tracks, avoid crowding wildlife and expect seasonal movement rather than guaranteed sightings.

Minneriya National Park

Minneriya National Park protects habitats around historic irrigation tanks and is known for wild elephants. The reservoir landscape is part of the park experience, not a separately promised wildlife stop or guaranteed gathering.

Pidurangala Rock

Pidurangala combines a Buddhist monastery setting with a rocky viewpoint near Sigiriya. It is a separate visit from Sigiriya Rock Fortress, with its own access and a more uneven final approach.

Sigiriya Museum

Sigiriya

Sigiriya Museum introduces the archaeology, planning and material culture of the Sigiriya site through objects, displays and interpretive context. It can deepen a traveller’s understanding of the wider heritage landscape, but it is a separate museum visit and should not be treated as a substitute for, or the entrance to, Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
